Eden is the third photography exhibition at Rozz-Tox, for Quad City photographer Laura Heath. Having success with her last two shows, Shadows and Shapes and An Awful Daring of a Moment’s Surrender, she will be showing her third show once again at Rozz-Tox. Her show was shot with her Cannon 5D DSLR camera.
Eden has assisted her artistic progression to become more focused on improving her composition and lighting. Named Eden to signify the idea that nudity need not be hidden away. Society often views nudity as shameful; she wants people to see it as beautiful.
Heath still finds inspiration in the work of Edward Weston’s 1900s work, the willingness of my models inspires me. She feels the work she has done in her last two shows and her current show have given both she and her models confidence they hadn’t felt in the past. Heath hopes that people leave with an appreciation of the human form as seen through her lens, and that the graphic simplicity of her images allows the viewer to feel her work instantaneously.
